The fiber fabric of the high temperature resistant conveyor belt in the early days was cotton fiber. The advantage of cotton fiber is that it is easy to bond with rubber, and the tensile strength is slightly improved when wet. The heat resistant conveyor belt is made of multi-layer rubber cotton canvas ( Polyester-cotton cloth) or polyester canvas covered with high-temperature-resistant or heat-resistant rubber, bonded together by high-temperature vulcanization, suitable for transporting hot coke, cement, slag and hot castings below 175°C! The disadvantage is that the anti-corrosion performance is poor, easy to Moldy, the breaking strength is as low as 56 N and can be torn apart. Therefore, the use of cotton fiber conveyor belts is decreasing day by day, and materials such as polyester and nylon are used instead.
It turned out that nylon fiber was put into use as a conveyor belt with a core. The strength of nylon fiber is as high as 700N/(mm. layer), the advantages are water resistance, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, etc.; the disadvantage is that it has high elasticity and long elongation.
Polyester fiber is a raw material similar to nylon fiber, and its performance is also similar to nylon fiber, but its elasticity is smaller than that of nylon fiber, and the elastic elongation is only half of nylon fiber when used, so it is more and more popular. The most commonly used rubber varieties for heat-resistant conveyor belt cover rubber are SBR, IIR and EPR. At present, SBR is commonly used, but it is only suitable for use below 120°C; IIR has better high temperature resistance than SBR, but its process performance is poor, and the price is too high, so it is rarely used in China; EPR has relatively high heat resistance and price Moderate, suitable for the production of heat-resistant conveyor belts.
